My name is James Prater, founder of Omega Ministries. This music ministry had its roots in my early childhood. My father was the pastor of a church in Tuscumbia, AL, where I saw my grandparents play music and sing on Sundays. Shortly after my grandfather passed away, the Lord gifted me with an ear for music and a talent for writing songs. Not having any fellowship in my age range I spent several hours daily at the church working on music. At the age of sixteen I moved away from Alabama only to return in the year of 2001 as I was experiencing a very deep and hurtful depression. My parents during this time had moved to Oklahoma as my father accepted the pastorialship of a small church. In the summer of 2002 I experienced two supernatural dreams wherein I feel the Lord was commissioning me to move to Oklahoma and start a music ministry. In them I saw the effects that the music would have with people. After I moved to Oklahoma and began the music ministry I saw the Lord use my music in a way I had never seen before as people would rejoice, cry, and run to the altar and give their praises to God. Today JP and OM is an evangelistic music ministry as we travel town to town singing, and testifying of the love of God in our lives.
